Meet Shyloh Romero our newest Wyoming Whirlwind coach-
I am a Cheyenne native and grew up being involved in many sports. Throughout my life I have had many coaches who had a positive impact on my life not only with helping me grow as an athlete but as an individual. One of the most important things I have learned over time is to never give up no matter how tough something may be. I am a mother of two kids so I understand the importance of setting a good example and strive to be that coach that they remember. I am looking forward to coaching and watching the kids grow not only as athletes but make their passion for volleyball grow as well.
We are so excited to have you with us for the upcoming season!

Daniel Banaszynski

Meet coach Daniel Banaszynski, who is back this year as a head coach!

I grew up in Milwaukee, WI and am now stationed here as an officer in the Air Force. I am married and have two kids who are starting to play volleyball. I started playing volleyball in 2000 in high school and then continued playing in college as well. I started coaching during that time also, and have now coached juniors, high school, and college athletes. I really enjoy watching players progress and discover new things they love about the sport.

Welcome back to Wyoming Whirlwind Coach Fredrick Guernsey (Freddy)

I am originally from the Philippines and moved to Omaha,NE at a young age and now I’m stationed here in Cheyenne,WY with the United States Air Force. I played basketball and soccer growing up and picked up volleyball when I was on a deployment 3 years ago and I have been in love ever since. Coaching has given me a new perspective of volleyball seeing these girls do things adults can’t even do, I truly believe the sky is the limit for them. Hustling every play and never giving up is what I hope I can instill in these girls. I’m still quite new to coaching and I’m taking notes from the great coaching staff here at Whirlwind and I look forward to seeing these girls go to new heights this next season.
We are excited to see Freddy play a bigger role with Wyoming Whirlwind this season!

Meet one of our Wyoming Whirlwind coaches Kira
Gallagher who is from a small town in Colorado and moved to Wyoming in 2012 to receive her education in Radiologic technologist. Sports have always been a part of her life and Kira has played volleyball since she was a little girl. Her mother was a volleyball coach for many years and provided a great example of the type of coach and person she would like to be. Not only does Kira love playing the sport but also loves being a coach. This will be her third season coaching for CVL. Kira looks forward to learning with her players and she loves the players. Her favorite thing about coaching is to watch her kids progress, not only athletic improvements but also their growth as a person.
We are so lucky to have Kira as a coach for us!
